Student Welfare Activities 2024-25

01. KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL EARN AND LEARN 2024-25

During the academic year 2024-25, our college successfully implemented the “KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL EARN AND LEARN” initiative in collaboration with the Student Development Board of Savitri Bai Phule University. A total of 18 students participated in this program, which incurred an expenditure of Rs 58,118.00. This initiative has been particularly beneficial for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Participants engaged in various activities across different departments of the Pharmacy College, under the supervision of department heads, including tasks such as library book issuance, maintenance of the medicinal plant garden, administrative duties, inventory management, and assisting with research activities conducted by faculty members. These contributions have significantly benefited the college, while also providing students with valuable learning experiences and rewards for their efforts, thereby aiding in the fulfillment of their educational requirements. This scheme has proven advantageous for students, faculty, and the institution as a whole.

02. ‘‘Mitra (Mind Training with Right Awareness) Upakram Anapan Session”

This program is conducted by AISSMS College of Pharmacy as part of student welfare initiatives in collaboration with the Vipassana Research Institute located in Igatpuri, Nashik. Meditation and yoga have received worldwide acclaim for their substantial impact on mental health and overall wellness. Both students and staff benefit from understanding how meditation serves as a vital tool for alleviating stress in today’s society. By combining physical postures with meditative practices, individuals can develop a heightened sense of awareness and emotional resilience. This combination emphasizes the lasting significance of the Indian Knowledge System in tackling contemporary issues while promoting spiritual development, and it highlights the practical uses of meditation within Indian cultural traditions. Spiritual practices grounded in the Indian Knowledge System advocate for gratitude, service to others, and self-reflection as means to achieve enlightenment. This viewpoint enhances our comprehension of meditation, viewing it not just as a technique but as a transformative lifestyle choice that aligns with broader spiritual principles.

03. Eye Donation Camp & Blood Donation Camp.

Students and faculty from Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn program, along with other committee members of AISSMS College of Pharmacy, participated in an Eye Donation Camp and a Blood Donation Camp. The Blood Donation Camp was organized in collaboration with AISSMS College of Pharmacy and Sasoon Blood Bank in Pune. Notably, a total of 16 individuals (students and faculty) expressed their willingness to donate their eyes, while 54 individuals (students and faculty) successfully donated blood.

04. NIRBHAYA KANYA YOJANA

The student development committee of AISSMS College of Pharmacy, Pune, organised the Nirbhaya Kanya Yojana Scheme on January 24, 2025, between 3 and 5 p.m.at ground floor, in accordance with a notice from the SPPU student development committee. This event was planned for all first-year M. Pharm students, with a focus on female students. Aditya Fight Karate Club’s Mr. Sunil Kadam was invited to speak at this event. All of the trainees received defence instruction from him, including karate, lathikathi, and other defence techniques. In front of other students, their club members additionally refined their artistic skills. Defense training should focus on the effectiveness of the techniques taught, the instructor’s delivery, the overall training environment, and areas for improvement. Total Twenty-two feedback responses were then received. Then program was ended up with positive, motivational and inspirational thoughts.

Usefullness: As per feedback received from students, the activity conducted was very helpful. All had fun and learnt some really useful techniques. The students were informed, entertained, and most importantly prepared for occasions where self-defence may be needed. The first strategy of avoidance was excellent and persuasively explained why physical defence is not the first part of self-defence. They loved the chance to try the palm strikes and the demonstration of shredding.

Total 17 students participated in this scheme. Total Rs 55390.00 were spending on this scheme. The scheme has proved really useful for economically weak students. These students performed various activities in the various departments of Pharmacy College under guidance of Head of departments like issue of books from library, medicinal plant garden maintenance, office work, and help in research activity performed by staff. All these activities proved really useful for the college. Also students learned the new things and received the reward for the work. This helped them to fulfill their educational needs. This scheme is useful for students, teachers and college.

02. Antiragging Week  2023-24

Antiragging Week from 12^th to 18^th Aug 2023 was observed in the college. T.Y.& Final year students filled the online antiragging form. Information about 1.  Ragging, What Constitutes Ragging? 2. Where can students get Help? 3.  Why should students & how can students use on line affidavits? 4. Summary of UGC regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions, 2009, 5. Summary of the judgment of the hon. Supreme Court delivered on the 8th may 2009 was given to the student.

03. Celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti 2023-24

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated in the college. Students and teacher participated in the event. Students presented their view on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar & his contribution in developing modern India.

01. KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL EARN AND LEARN 2022-23

In the year 2022-23 our college has successfully conducted the scheme “KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL EARN AND LEARN “with the help of Student Development Board Savitri bai Phule University. Total Nineteen students participated in this scheme. Total Rs 85657.50.00 was spend on this scheme. The scheme has proved really useful for economically backward students. These students performed various activities in the various departments of Pharmacy College under guidance of head of departments like issue of books from library, medicinal plant garden maintenance, office work, and help in research activity performed by staff. All these activities proved really useful for the college. Also students learned the new things and received the reward for the work. This helped them to fulfil their educational needs. Thus this scheme is useful for students, teachers and college.

02. Constitution day of India.

National Constitution Day was celebrated at AISSMS College of Pharmacy, Pune, on 25 November 2022 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. To reiterate the values enshrined in the Constitution, the students,teaching, Non teaching  Staff & the Principal  joined   in the reading of the Preamble to the Constitution along with remembering & reading of Fundamental duties at 11:25 am in the college campus . The entire college reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Constitution by taking the pledge  at All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society  college of  pharmacy pune .

03. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti

Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is observed on 14 April to commemorate the memory of B. R. Ambedkar, Indian politician and social reformer. It marks Ambedkar’s birthday that was born on 14 April 1891. His birthday is also referred to as ‘Equality Day’ by some in India. Students at AISSMS college of Pharmacy presented their views on social justice and social reforms done by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar

04. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a venture launched by the Indian government with the aim of honoring and rejoicing in 75 years of independence, while also paying tribute to the nation’s rich history, cultural heritage, and remarkable accomplishments. This celebration is a heartfelt homage to the Indian residents, who have played a pivotal role in steering the nation’s progress so far. Moreover, this initiative is dedicated to recognizing the potential within the people of India to contribute to the realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of propelling India forward as an empowered nation, powered by the principles of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India. 05. Celebration of National Voter Day

On November 25 Jan  2023, AISSMS College of Pharmacy Earn & Learn students (Student Development Cell) & NSS Students jointly celebrated as National voter days, on this occasion students told about importance of voting, they were announced that  above 18 years students must be register their name on govt website & link their  addhar no & mobile to voter id no.

1. Activity: – Savitribai Phule Mohotsav

Description of Activity:

AISSMS College of Pharmacy has been celebrated Savitribai Phule Mohotsav as in Pune university has been set & inogarated statue of savitribai phule & circulated notice to celebrate Savitribai Phule Mohotsav to all colleges .Savitribai Phule (3 January 1831 – 10 March 1897) was an Indian social reformer, educationalist, and poet from Maharashtra. Along with her husband, in Maharashtra, she played an important and vital role in improving women’s rights in India. She is considered to be the pioneer of India’s feminist movement.

1. Shivrajyabhishek Sohala (Coronation) 2021-22

Description of Activity: Students & All teaching Staff were aware of  Shivrajyabhishek Sohala or Shivrajyabhishek Din is considered an auspicious occasion as it marks the historical coronation of the greatest Maratha king – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. On this day in 1674, Chhatrapati Shivaji became the king of the Maratha Empire. Shivrajyabhishek Sohala were celebrated  as  Principal madam inaugurated the programme by lighting  the lamp & Praying   Shivaji Maharaj Statue .Powada was sung by Prathamesh Bipin  Patil (B.Pharm first year student) Shivaji Maharaj & Rajmata Jijamata poem

Special Guidance program 2017-18

“Special Guidance program” at AISSMS college of Pharmacy was started with the aims to all together development of the weak student and benefit them from lectures of expert teachers of respective subjects. Our college is permanent affiliated to University of Pune, we have being successfully carried out this program from last 9 years. According to this development scheme, students of First year B.Pharm are given special guidance on subjects they found it difficult to understand by the senior expert in the same subject from our own college or from other institute.

Personality Development

STRI BHRUN HATYA AND EYE CARE PROGRAMME was held in the AISSMS College of pharmacy on 23th January 2018. The Programme began with inaugural function and introduction of the morning session speaker. Mr. Bajirao Magdum, Dr. Sadhana Bangre and Dr. Madan Biradar. Mr. Bajirao Magdum conducted a lecture on Stri Bhrun Hatya, the social impact and educated the students on the concern topic. Dr. Sadhna Bhangre (Medical Officer) and Dr. Madan Biradar details the measure that the government has taken to eradicate such practice and call upon students and society at large to help such cruel practice of Stri Bhrun Hatya After Lunch break Mr. Saurabh Kumar of Vison express gave lecture on how to take care of eyes. Students eye chekup camp was held in the afternoon session. The event concluded at 4.30pm.

Two day work shop on Disaster Management Programme 2017-18

The two day work shop on Disaster Management Programme 2017-18 was held on 27^th and 28^th February 2018. For this event expert from the field of disaster management were invited to delivery lecture to student of First year B.Pharm.

On day 1 First lecture was delivery by Mr. Anil Dandekar, Rtd. Principal , MIT School, Kothrud, Pune who have delivered more than 700 lecturers on disaster and mitigation skills to educational institute, professional colleges, rotary and senior clubs. One and half hour presentation was made by Mr. Anil Dandekar on type of disaster and mitigation skill student have found it very interesting and helpful. Second lecture was delivered by Mr. Milind Vaidya, Center for Disaster Management and Studies, Mayur Colony Kothrud. Mr. Milind emphasis on the skill requirement in dealing with disaster in urban area like fire, flood, road accident. Student were very much interested in this topic of discussion.

FILM SCREENING AND INTERACTION SESSION ON-‘ Gender Equality & Awareness:

Creating awareness is an important stepping stone towards the achievement of any major goal, and this is important especially when the goal at hand is to create sensitive young men and women, who regard Gender equality as an important guiding principle of all their thoughts and actions. Therefore, in this effort to create awareness about this vital issue of gender equality, the Gender Champions of AISSMS College of Pharmacy, along with the nodal teachers in-charge, organised a ‘Film Screening & Interaction Session on Gender Equality and Awareness.’ on the 29th of September,2017 in the college auditorium. It was attended by participants of First Year and Third Year, B.Pharmacy, which included about 48 girls and 37 boys.

Health Checkup

Students’ Health Services Scheme was established by the University of Pune to promote physical, mental & social well being of the students. Health Check up of every first year and hostel students seeking admission in college is compulsory. This is for benefit of the students as unrecognized disease/s which they are not aware of can be detected at the time of the check-up and the treatment can be taken at appropriate time. The students are advised to correct the illnesses detected at the time of health checkup.
