  1. Celebration of “Vachan Prerna Divas”

The college library celebrated “Vachan Prerna Divas” (Reading Inspiration Day) on 15th October, commemorating the birth anniversary of the visionary leader and former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

To promote the habit of reading among students, the library presented the “Library Best User Award” to one deserving student from each class of B.Pharm. The winners were selected based on the issue–return record generated through the library automation system. The awards, comprising books by renowned authors, were presented by Dr. Ashwini R. Madgulkar during the celebration.

2. BOOK AND NOTEBOOK DONATION DRIVE

 

As part of the Vachan Prerna Divas celebration, the library organized a Book and Notebook Donation Drive to encourage reading habits and support underprivileged children. Students actively participated by donating informative books, autobiographies, and educational materials. Additionally, the college purchased new notebooks for this noble cause.

All collected materials were donated to Samata Balak Mandir, Yerwada, Pune, in collaboration with Mrs. Babita Sanas, President of Nayi Udaan, an organization dedicated to social welfare and community development.

This initiative not only promoted reading among students but also instilled values of empathy, generosity, and social responsibility, aligning with Dr. Kalam’s vision of education for all.

3.LIBRARY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

To familiarize newly admitted students with library resources and services, the library conducted an orientation session for F.Y. B.Pharm, S.Y. B.Pharm, and M.Pharm students.

The session covered effective utilization of library facilities, including:

  • Accessing the online catalogue (OPAC)
  • Using digital resources and e-journals
  • Understanding borrowing and referencing procedures
  • Exploring research databases and pharmacy-related portals

An Exhibition of Books was organized on the occasion of Vachan Prerna Diwas (Reading Inspiration Day). The exhibition showcased a wide range of motivational, miscellaneous, and syllabus-related books to encourage the habit of reading among students and staff.
